Performance Issue: Spirion Client Application Unable to Communicate with Central Console

Brief Description:
Because of a certificate issue, Spirion client applications are unable to make a connection to the central console. The clients are still functional, but are not reporting status or scan results to the console.
Current Status:
A fix for the Windows issue has been found, tested, and made available for all hosts connected to the Cornell University Windows computer management tool, Configuration Manager. In cases where this approach is not applicable, email security-services@cornell.edu for an alternative delivery method. Potential solutions for the Mac issue are still being investigated and tested.

Security Alert: Urgent Google Chrome/Microsoft Edge Patch

Brief Description:
A zero-day vulnerability in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge may lead to arbitrary code execution or sensitive information disclosure. Google states this vulnerability is being actively exploited. This supersedes a prior alert from 11/28/2022. Patch now.
Current Status:
Microsoft has published Microsoft Edge 108.0.1462.42 to address this vulnerability. For Microsoft Edge: To check if your browser is updated, navigate to Menu > Help and Feedback > About Microsoft Edge, or edge://settings/help in the address bar. If your Edge browser is listed as 108.0.1462.42 or higher, you are protected. Users should apply the following updates: • Edge 108.0.1462.42 or higher Certified Desktop customers: • Windows: A patch for Microsoft Edge was made available earlier today, Tuesday, December 6, with an install deadline of 4:00pm the same day. Microsoft Edge will automatically update for most customers. This patch will address instances where automatic update has not yet occurred. • macOS: Users of Microsoft Edge should manually check for updates and install them. Microsoft Edge users who do not have a managed computer should check for updates and install them. For more information refer to the references below. Performance Issue: Some Users Need to Clear Browser Cache after TeamDynamix 11.6 Upgrade

Brief Description:
TeamDynamix was updated this weekend. If you encounter any problems, the first troubleshooting step is to clear your browser cache and restart the browser. This has been reported by a handful of MacOS users with the Safari web browser.
Current Status:
TeamDynamix is currently available, but some MacOS users have reported that clearing the Safari web browser cache resolves issues with TeamDynamix.

Performance Issue: LastPass Firefox Browser Plugin

There have been reports of an inability to log into or interact with LastPass using the LastPass Firefox browser plug-in. It is possible to work around the issue by instead using a different browser, the mobile app, or the website, lastpass.com .
